Nesquehoning police warn of break-ins at empty homes

Nesquehoning police are warning residents that there have been several reports of juveniles entering abandoned properties along East and West Railroad Street in the borough over the last few weeks.

If anyone sees suspicious activity or anyone entering an abandoned property, notify police immediately by calling the station at 570-669-9111 or dial 911.In a related matter, on March 11, officers Tim Wuttke and Derek Marouchoc arrested two juveniles who were breaking into a building located just south of Redner's Warehouse Market on Route 209. The juveniles used wood to pull steel siding away from the building to gain access.Police were notified of the break in when a passing driver spotted the teens and called to report the break-in.The juveniles were charged in the Carbon County Juvenile Probation office with burglary, criminal trespass and various other charges.
