Just one company is interested in the job of cleaning the Schuylkill County Human Services complex at 410 N. Centre St. in Pottsville.

County commissioners at a work session Wednesday opened the bid, for a three-year contract, from TKO Cleaning Service LLC, Pottsville.TKO is asking $20,400 for the first year, $21,600 for the second year, and $22,800 for the third year.Officials will review the bid before deciding whether or not to give TKO the job.The county also received four bids from companies vying to fix a bridge in Norwegian Township. The bridge, on Maple Avenue, spans the west branch of the Schuylkill River.The companies are Kinsley Construction of York, which offered to do the work for $983,935; Bi-State Construction of Easton, $778,487; Heim Construction of Orwigsburg, $714,379; and Barletta Materials and Construction of Tamaqua, $823,057.The county will review the bids before awarding the job.In other matters, commissioners approved a two-year, $260,000 per year agreement with Greens Communications of Pottsville for service maintenance for Motorola Centracom Gold Elite radio consoles, which were installed in the county 911 center in November 2008.The new contract costs the same as the previous one.In a related matter, commissioners also approved a $413,632.98 service agreement with Motorola Solutions for the center's p25 Astro radio system.The agreement is for 24/7 system monitoring and service through Dec. 31, 2016.
