Chestnuthill man catches burglar

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said a Chestnuthill Township man caught a burglar who fled the scene of the crime at a 4 p.m. March 10.Police arrested Birdell B. Brockington, 19, of Effort, who was arraigned and committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville..Police said the victim, a resident of the 1100 block of Lakeside Drive, Effort, saw Brockington removing the items from his residence. The victim confronted him and Brockington fled.Police said Brockington was located walking on Lakeside Drive and was taken into custody. The items taken from the house were located outside the property and also on Brockington.
