A Jim Thorpe woman escaped serious injury when the vehicle she was driving flipped in Nesquehoning on Saturday.

The crash happened just before 6 a.m. along Route 93 between the county prison and the top of the hill. Stephanie Ruth Farley, 28, of 31 Wolf Drive, was driving a maroon Chrysler Town and Country home from working the night shift when she drove over the rumble strips and over corrected, losing control of the vehicle as it crossed both lanes before it flipped. The vehicle is owned by her mother-in-law Sherry L. Knauft of Jim Thorpe.Nesquehoning police said when they arrived, they found Farley crouching inside the vehicle on its roof against an embankment. Officer Glenn Laninger asked if she was hurt and she said the only pain she had was to her head. She got out of the car on her own. Farley told police she was drowsy from her shift but doesn't think she fell asleep. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.EMS treated Farley on-scene but she refused to go to the hospital for further evaluation and was picked up by Knauft.The vehicle was towed by Marouchoc's Auto in Nesquehoning. Assisting Nesquehoning police were Nesquehoning Ambulance, Lehighton ALS and the three Nesquehoning fire companies.
