35 Marian FBLA students compete

Marian Catholic High School's FBLA chapter participated in the Region 23 Conference held on Dec. 18at Susquehanna University.

A total of 35 Marian students competed in the performance events, with 14 becoming eligible to attend the state conference in Hershey.The objective testing for the conference was completed online at individual chapter schools, while the performance events were held at the university event.Awards were presented to the top five competitors in each individual event, the top three competitors in the school site production tests, the top two teams in group events and the top individual for the speaking events.Several Marian students are participating in a category for state events only and are awaiting the results of that competition. They include the Business Plan team of Heather Getten, Rose Reid and Melissa Ramirez, and the Website Design team of Julia Hoben, Tina Capparell and Erica Baba.Members who attended but did not compete are: Karlee Gimeno, Grace Mussoline, Victoria Dutz, Isabella Schwabe, Lidia Sokarda, Robert Kuznicki, Samantha McCarthy, Nacin Rojas, Daniel Simmons and Hunter Nause.Other Marian students participating included: Cassandra Casella, Skye Koshuta, Cooper Moore, Gabrielle Tout, Olivia Palmieri, Ariel Stanalonis, Quest Wilson, Nicole Capparell, Emma McClafferty, Michaela Susko, Clarissa Colondo, Gabriella Smith, Nikki Kline, Juliana Oberto, Natalia Konitzer, Sara Osilka, Abigail Haas, Peter Dubravski, Stephan Betterly, Courtney Rodick and Nichole Baba.

The State Leadership Conference is one of the major events in the Pennsylvania FBLA year. Members who qualify participate in a variety of workshops throughout their two-day stay at Hershey as well as attempt to advance further in their category of competition to nationals.
