Three people were cited by Tamaqua police on Feb. 22 for fighting over what one of the participants labeled as misdirected texts.

Joshua J. Schropple, 34, of 1 Cherry St., Tamaqua, went to the police station at 4:55 p.m. to report being assaulted by Richard Bealer, 34, of 353 Mush Dahl Road, New Ringgold, and Tiffany Pickett, 25, of 258 W. Cottage Ave. in Tamaqua. Schropple said he was sending texts to what he thought was his wife's cellphone, but they were actually going to Bealer's phone.Bealer and Pickett confronted him shortly before 3 p.m. on Union Street. All three engaged in a fight, with Pickett using a stun device on Schropple several times.Schropple didn't report the fight immediately as he went to the hospital to be checked. Once released from the emergency room he went to the station and filed a report.All three were charged with simple assault and harassment.
