February 27, 1998 - Theresa Ferry gains two gold medals, one individual and another as part of a relay, to help the Tamaqua girls swim team capture the District 11 Class AA championship. Ferry wins the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:10.86 and combines with Anjuanita Lazur, Stephanie Lisella and Katie MacDonald to claim the 200 free relay. Joelle Evanousky also earns a first place for the Raiders, who edge Salisbury 85-77 for the team title, taking the 100 free in a time of 56.49. Evanousky (50 free), Lisella (500 free) and Randi Wagner (200 IM) also add second-place finishes.
