A Lancaster County man has been charged in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred in Lehigh County.

State police at Fogelsville have charged Frank Norman Snyder, 38, of Columbia, with being in a crash involving death or personal injury, a felony; and a summary count of driving while his license is suspended or revoked.The hit-and-run occurred at 1:25 a.m. Tuesday at Macungie Mountain and St. Peters roads in Upper Milford Township. Alan L. Ruth, 48, of Upper Milford, was struck and killed.According to troopers, they received a call on Wednesday from a caller identified as a possible passenger in the vehicle that hit Ruth. Trooperstracked down Snyder, who was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee at the time of the crash.Troopers said Snyder was turning left onto Macungie Mountain Road when his Jeep hit Ruth, who was riding a motorized bicycle west of St. Peters Road. Troopers said the Jeep stopped after hitting Ruth, two people got out, then got back into the Jeep and fled.Snyder was arraigned on the charges and committed to the county prison after failing to post $500,000 bail.
