A shoplifter dropped the item he had stolen from a Schuylkill County department store as he fled security personnel.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident began about 7:35 p.m. on Feb. 17 at Boscov's Department Store in the Fairlane Village Mall in Norwegian Township. A white man was observed picking up a Ralph Lauren Polo Blue gift pack and leaving the store. When store personnel confronted him he ran towards Lowe's Home Improvement Center, and then into nearby woods. As he fled he dropped the stolen item and it was recovered.The man was described as being 20-30 years old and wearing a blue baseball cap, a brown Carhart style jacket, gray pants and black Adidas sneakers with small red, yellow and green stripes on the side. Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.
