Carbon County court

Several defendants in pending criminal cases entered guilty pleas recently in Carbon County court.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted pleas from the following:Brad McClintock,43, of Westmont, New Jersey, pleaded in two pending cases. He pleaded to one count of forgery for an incident on July 1, 2015, in Jim Thorpe where he filled out a lease agreement for an apartment with a false name; and one count of receiving stolen property for an incident on Aug. 15, 2015, in Jim Thorpe involving the theft of three bottles of wine.On the first count he was sentenced to serve six to one day less 24 months in the county prison with credit for 99 days already served; and on the second count serve one year probation consecutive to the first sentence. He was also ordered to make total restitution in the two cases of $1,751, supply a DNA sample, and render a total of 150 hours of community service.Dillon Michael Hontz, 27, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded in two pending cases. He pleaded to one count of simple assault for an incident on June 2, 2015, in the area of the Gypsy Hill Garden apartments in Lehighton; and to theft by receiving stolen property for an incident on July 15, 2011, in Mahoning Township. In the first case a count of robbery was dropped in a plea bargain with the district attorney's office.Serfass deferred sentencing so Hontz could apply for placement in the county's Intermediate Punishment Program-house arrest.Tasha Lynn Osborn,36, of Weissport, entered pleas in two pending cases. She pleaded to one count of receiving stolen property for an incident on Nov. 17, 2014, at the CVS pharmacy in Nesquehoning; and one count of persistent disorderly conduct for an incident on May 2, 2015, filed by state police at Lehighton for an incident in the area of 211 White St., Weissport.A charge of simple assault was dropped in a plea bargain with the district attorney's office.Serfass deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.Kim Ann Osborn,55, of Nesquehoning, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct for an incident on May 2, 2015. This is a companion case to Tasha Lynn Osborn involving the same victim.Sentencing was deferred.Nancy Bell Kuhn,55, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of persistent disorderly conduct. She was arrested by state police at Lehighton on Nov. 30, 2015, along Martha Lane in Penn Forest Township. Charges of terroristic threats, indecent exposure and harassment were dropped in a plea bargain with the district attorney's office.She was placed on probation for a year, ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment, have no contact with the victims and render 50 hours of community service.Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
