Now over northern New Jersey, east central and northeast Pennsylvania from the vicinity of interstate 78 northward will turn to sleet and freezing rain this evening with less than 2 inches additional accumulation of snow between 6 and 8 pm.
Icing will continue through at least 1 a.m. Tuesday.
Be careful when stepping outside. It may be better to leave the snow on the pavement to allow traction, rather than clearing the snow which would permit an instant freeze of the rain this evening.
Leave plenty of time to reach your destination tonight and be aware that some of the valleys may still have freezing rain linger through 5 a.m. Tuesday. Be prepared for icy windshields tonight.
Temperatures will soar into the 50s on Tuesday.
