Bowmanstown borough council seeks funding for repairs

During theirmeeting Tuesday, Bowmanstown Borough Council unanimously agreed to seek grant funding for two projects.

Under the property and special committee, Chairman Rob Moyer sought and got approval to move forward with two grant possibilities. One of the grants would be for repairs and improvements to the Borough Building. This is a "historic grant," in which the Borough Building would meet the criteria. In the past months, council has approved repair to the roof of the structure. If the grant would be successful, hopes of completing the roof project, as well as some masonry work to the building itself that is needed. The second grant would be to continue with a recreation project that would improve the area of the pavilion in the borough. This would include a walking path and possibly basketball courts. This grant would be used in the area of Lime Street, at the recreation fields. While both of these grants are in the early stages, council provided unanimous support to proceed and find funding for these projects.
