Residents were displaced after a firedestroyed a one-time prominent restaurant in Schuylkill County Monday morning.

The blaze began about 10:30 a.m. at the former Swiss Chalet, 529 Second Mountain Road in Orwigsburg, West Brunswick Township.Fire companies from at least 10 communities battled the swift-moving fire.At one time one of the county's most well-known eateries, the building has since been converted into apartments.No injuries were reported.The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.The American Red Cross Tri-County Chapter responded to the scene and provided emergency assistance for lodging, food and clothing foreight people.The Red Cross will continue to work with those affected and assess any other needs they may have.
