A Carbon County woman has been charged with retail theft after she stole from the Walmart store in Mahoning Township on Monday.

Township Police said that at 12:24 p.m. Monday, police were dispatched to a fraudulent return and a retail theft at Walmart involving $591.49 in merchandise.Loss prevention reported the female involved, Joamber Glasoe, 27, of Palmerton, fled the store.With the assistance of Franklin Township and Palmerton Police, the vehicle was stopped on Route 248.During the investigation, police seized the stolen merchandise, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.Glasoe has been charged with retail theft, a felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.She was arraigned by District Judge Casimir Kosciolek, and placed in Carbon County Prison in lieu of $2,500 bail.A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Feb. 3.
