Carbon County homeless count takes place tonight

The nationwide Point In Time homeless count will take place tonight into Thursday morning for Carbon County. Several area food pantries and community centers will be set up to provide resources and survival supplies to anyone without a home.

The point in time count information collected will be used to decide where and how much government funding would best be used in the area. Any information collected will be kept confidential.Wednesday's resource locations are:• Lansford Food Pantry, 104 E Abbott St, from 5 to 8 p.m.• Lehighton Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., from 6 to 8 p.m.• Palmerton Food Bank, 2915 Fireline Road, from 6 to 8 p.m.• Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W. Hazard St., from 5 to 8 p.m.• Tresckow Banks Township Municipal Building, Cherry and Fern streets, from 4 to 6 p.m.• Weissport St. Peter's Community Resource Center, 177 Main Road Lehighton, 6 to 8 p.m.Thursday's resource locations are:• Jim Thorpe, St. Joseph's Food Pantry, 526 North St., 10 a.m. until noon.• Palmerton Food Bank, 8 to 10 a.m.• Weissport St. Peter's Community Resource Center, 9 to 11 a.m.Anyone interested in volunteering for the count in their area can meet at one of the several designated sites at 8 p.m.• Jim Thorpe, The Inn of Jim Thorpe, 24 Broadway.• Lansford/Summit Hill, Lansford Food Pantry• Lehighton, Peaceful Knights, 155 N.
