Tamaqua crews to begin snow removal tonight

Tamaqua Borough work crews will begin removing the snow banks from the streets tonight. Operations will begin at 10 p.m. and will be done day and night.

Tonight's schedule includes: south side of Broad, from tracks near Turkey Hill to Odd Fellows Cemetery; Center, both sides from Broad to Route 309 bridge; Nescopec, both sides from Broad to Cottage Avenue; Swatara, both sides from Broad to iron steps.Tuesday morning, at 10 a.m., crews will begin removing snow from Pitt Street, Lafayette to end; and Clay Street, from Pitt to Nescopec.Nighttime operations on Tuesday will begin at 10 p.m. and include: north side of Broad, from railroad tracks near Turkey Hill to Odd Fellows Cemetery; Mauch Chunk, both sides from Broad to Pine; Berwick, both sides from Broad to Hegarty Avenue; Nescopec, both sides from Broad to Hegarty Avenue; Swatara, both sides from Broad to Lafayette.at 10 a.m. Wednesday crews will remove snow on Penn Street, from Coal to Hunter Street.Wednesday night, at 10 p.m., they will begin removing snow from Hunter Street, Broad to Orwigsburg; and Washington Street, Elm to Lafayette.Streets will be posted in advance. Any vehicle not moved before the scheduled start times will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.Schedules are subject to change depending on work schedules and weather conditions.Snow removal will continue as needed and will be announced later this week.
