A large amount of cash was stolen from a Schuylkill County business during a burglary.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the Sam Place Lottery & Tobacco shop, located in the Cressona Mall, was entered sometime between 1:49 and 2:04 a.m. Saturday and $15,000 was taken. Also taken was an undetermined amount of lottery tickets, cartoons of cigarettes and individual packs of cigarettes. In addition, the criminals caused several thousand of dollars of damage to the business.According troopers, someone gained entry to the mall by unknown means and cut a gate to the Sam Place business.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 570-739-1330.
