Firefighters fought deep snow to rescue a disabled person whose dryer caught fire Saturday evening.
The fire was reported around 5:52 p.m. at a home on Cree Lane in the Mount Pocahontas community, according to radio reports from Carbon County 911 dispatchers.
A fire started in a clothes dryer at the home. A disabled person who was unable to use the stairs was trapped.
Crews including Lake Harmony fire responded and rescued the victim from the home. The victim was evaluated at the scene. They extinguished the dryer that caught fire and removed it from the dwelling.
Emergency workers reported to dispatchers that the dead-end street was covered in deep snow as they attempted to reach the rescue.
