Walnutport snow emergency
The borough of Walnuport has declared a snow emergency from midnight tonight to midnight Sunday. Residents are asked to follow rules for snow emergency parking.
Chestnuthill Transfer station
The Chestnuthill Township Recycling Center and Transfer Station will be closed Saturday.
Trinity United
The roast beef dinner scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 24, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua has been canceled. The cancellation is due to weather concerns.
Palmerton Library
The Palmerton Area Public Library has postponed the Palmerton Area Art Show and Lunch, due to the weather coming this weekend. It will now be held at noon Jan. 31.
The art show was originally set for this Sunday.
Dropoff of artwork has been extended to Thursday, Jan. 28.

Galen Glen
The third annual chili cook-off at Galen Glen Winery in Andreas has been postponed due to the impending winter storm.
The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 30.
The cook-off benefits the West Penn Fire Company.
New Life Assembly of God
The free presentation of the movie "War Room," at New Life Assembly of God Church, 407 Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, has been postponed because of weather predictions for this weekend. The movie will be shown at 1 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31.
The film was produced by the Kendrick brothers and is about the power of prayer.
The public is welcome.
Marian football banquet
The Marian football banquet, originally scheduled to be held Saturday night, has been postponed due to this weekend's impending snow storm.
The banquet will be moved back one day until Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The banquet will still be held at Capriotti's in Tresckow.
Orioles Breakfast
The all-you-can-eat breakfast scheduled for Jan. 24 at the Lehighton Orioles Community Center has been postponed to Jan. 31.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION baseball and softball sign-ups scheduled for today (Saturday, Jan. 23) have been postponed until Thursday, Jan. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lehighton Middle School
