In anticipation of the snowstorm this weekend, the Lansford Police Department reminds residents that the snow ordinance will go into effect and enforced following 4 inches or more of snow.

The ordinance will take effect beginning on the day following the storm and will be enforced from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.On even-numbered calendar days, vehicles will need to be removed from the south and west sides of the street (even house number side).On odd-numbered calendar days, vehicles will need to be removed from the north and east sides of the street (odd house number side).The other side of the street will be plowed the following day.The owner of any vehicle in violation of the ordinance is subject to a minimum fine of $25 and the towing of the vehicle and associated costs.The department asks for everyone's cooperation throughout the storm and while the ordinance is in effect.Anyone with any questions can contact the police department at (570) 645-5844.Residents can listen to WMGH/WASH radio or go to the police department's Facebook page for updates on the storm and the ordinance.
