McCann School of Business & Technology, 2650 Woodglen Road, Pottsville is hosting its first Volunteer Income Tax Assistance workshop from 9 a.m. to noon onJan. 30. The free workshop helps local working families prepare tax returns.

Schuylkill Community Action IRS certified volunteers will run the workshop, which will take place every Saturday until the end of tax season.Individuals interested in attending a VITA session should call the SCA at 570-662-1995 for a free screening process over the phone. Eligible participants will be scheduled for an appointment at McCann.The VITA program is part of the SCA "Schuylkill Money in your Pocket Campaign" dedicated to promoting Educational Improvement Tax Credit outreach in Schuylkill County.
