State police at the Lehighton barracks said charges of driving under the influence are pending against a 50-year-old Lehighton man as a result of a traffic stop early Friday.

Police said the stop was made on Route 443 in Mahoning Township after police observed a Motor Vehicle Code violation. The driver was taken into custody for DUI and transported for a blood test.
