Caution: Black ice, high winds tonight

With a cold front moving through the region, temperatures will drop off sharply. This drop in temperatures, combined with the rain and snow that moved through earlier could lead to the dangerous formation of black ice especially on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads through early Wednesday morning.

Black ice is nearly impossible to see and roadways may appear only wet. Please use extreme caution...especially on bridges...overpasses and around curves. Allow plenty of stopping distance and avoid braking suddenly.

A wind advisory remains in effect until 5 a.m. Wednesday. Winds will be 20 to 30 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph. through this evening and into the overnight.

Scattered tree and power line damage is possible. Driving high profile vehicles will be difficult.
