Roads in the Panther Valley and Jim Thorpe areas were icy overnight and into this morning.
Traffic was tied up on Bugzie's Mountain just before 7 a.m. today, as cars waited for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to arrive to put down salt and cinders.Other areas were reported to be icy as well.Crashes were reported on routes 903, 93 and 209 in the area of Knepper's Trailer Court.The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. today to 7 a.m. Saturday for mixed freezing rain and possibly snow.Accumulations could be a trace to less than one-tenth inch glaze, and if it snows, less than 1 inch of snow.Rain will continue through the weekend.On Sunday rainfall of three-quarters of an inch is possible.
