An employee of a Schuylkill County restaurant has been charged with stealing over $19,000 from the business.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Alex Shanko, 36, of Frackville, has been charged with theft and related counts. Troopers said Shanko failed to make 10 deposits totaling $19,656.79 for the Arby's Restaurant, located at 408 Suedberg Road, in Pine Grove Township. The incident occurred over a period of Nov. 5, 2015, to Jan. 1.Shanko was arraigned before District Judge David J. Rossi of Tremont and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
