Burgie, 223 W. Broadway, Jim Thorpe, as the defendant. The suit says the defendant executed the promissory note dated Sept. 7, 2010, which encumbered property at the above address as security for the loan.Sought is judgment in the amount of $61,459.25, plus interest, late charges, attorney fees and costs.The other complaint is against Timothy E. Black, 201 W. Mill St., Nesquehoning. The suit says the defendant executed a promissory note dated Sept. 9, 2010, which encumbered properties at 128 and 130 W. Rhume St., Nesquehoning, as security for the loan.Sought is judgment in the amount of $50,921.175, plus interest, late charges, attorney fees and costs.Appeals suspensionKevin Mauriello, 1560 Summer Mountain Road, Palmerton, has filed an appeal of a three-month suspension of his driver's license by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Transportation, Harrisburg, which was to take effect Jan. 6, 2016.Correspondence in the petition states Mauriello was notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that it was notified by the Geico Casualty Co. that insurance on three vehicles he owns - a 2007 Toyota truck, a 1998 Ford convertible and a 2002 Mitsubishi convertible - was terminated on Oct. 13, 2015, and that he failed to provide the department proof of financial responsibility (insurance) for vehicles, as requested, resulting in the license suspension.The plaintiff contends the suspension is improper and unlawful because the vehicles in question have been properly insured and proof of said insurance has previously been sent to PennDOT.
