December 24, 2008 - The Times News Sports Department announces that Tamaqua's Chelsea Jones is the winner of its Girls Tennis Player of the Year. Jones, a senior and the No. 1 singles player for the Blue Raiders during the season, registered a 10-4 record and recorded an opening-round win during the District 11 singles tournament. Jones, along with teammate Kristina Zwolenik, also pick up an opening-round win during the doubles tourney.
