Two arrested, two facing charges in Walmart thefts

Two were arrested and two are facing charges after recent thefts at the HT Commons Walmart in Hometown.

On Monday, Rush Township Police charged Chelsea Walters, 22, of Tamaqua, with retail theft, receiving stolen property, criminal conspiracy and providing false identification to law enforcement.Walters took merchandise valued at $394.73. She was arraigned before District Judge Stephen Bayer in Tamaqua.Unable to post bond, she was transported to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville.Kayla Cook, 21, of Tamaqua is facing a charge of criminal conspiracy in connection with the theft.A Bushkill man ended up in the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville on Dec. 15 after a shoplifting incident at Walmart.Rush Township Police were dispatched to the store at 5:35 p.m. for a retail theft. While the shoplifter, Daniel Schwartz, 27, of McAdoo, fled the area, police did arrest John A. Booth, 36, of Bushkill.Booth was wanted on outstanding arrest warrants issued in Schuylkill, Monroe and Pike counties.Booth was taken to the county prison.Schwartz will be charged with retail theft. The merchandise he took is valued at $488.76.
