Lions Club hosting pork dinner

To usher in the New Year, the Palmerton Lions Club will host a pork and sauerkraut dinner from noon to 5 p.m. Jan. 1 at Sokol Hall, 452 Lehigh Ave. in Palmerton. Dinner includes beverage and dessert.

For tickets or more information, call George at 610-767-0478 or Millie at 610-826-6465.Delivery may be available with the purchase of five or more dinners.Community members are encouraged to donate their used eyeglasses or hearing aids during this event.Eyeglasses may also be donated at Houser Newman Eye Associates, Walters Optometric, First National Bank, Citizens Bank and Simply Something all located on Delaware Avenue in Palmerton; the Palmerton Area High School, located on Fire Line Road; or by giving them to any Lions member.Eyeglasses are recycled to those in other countries who are unable to afford corrective lenses.Anyone needing financial assistance with eyeglasses can contact committee chairman, Nick Hawkey at 610-826-6465.
