Volunteers needed for Habitat for Humanity

Monroe County Habitat for Humanity is seeking volunteers to work in several different capacities:

Committee members are needed for the Family Support Committee to serve as mentors who advise, teach and advocate for partner families. This committee helps ensure that families will succeed in homeownership. The Family Selection Committee also needs assistance. Volunteers help qualify applicants to become homeowners or to have repairs performed on their homes. This is accomplished through data collection and meetings with the family.Construction Committee members work in partnership with the executive director and board of directors to develop schedules, systems and plans for home repairs and building. The Faith Relations Committee seeks to strengthen the support of the affiliate's work by gaining volunteers, prayer and financial resources from all community faith congregations.Habitat for Humanity welcomes donations of vehicles. Cars do not need to run; they should just be in one piece. Any car donated in Monroe County directly benefits the local organization. For meeting times or for more information, call 570-476-9846.
