Free Gift of Life program at Penn-Kidder Center

The public is invited to a free program called "You're Never Too Old" including continental breakfast at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Penn-Kidder Senior Center on Route 903 north of Jim Thorpe.

As the holiday season begins, learn about the greatest gift of all through Gift of Life Donor Program. Attendees will be able to explore their potential to save and heal lives through organ and tissue donation regardless of age, according to Gift of Life Regional Community Relations coordinator Susan Koomar."Anyone can be a potential organ and tissue donor no matter how old they are. We've had donors in their 80s in our region. Saving and healing lives is an amazing legacy to leave at any age," said Koomar.Kidney transplant recipient and Gift of Life volunteer Mel Talmadge of Ashley will join Koomar for the presentation.The event will include giveaways and an opportunity to see one of Gift of Life's "Threads of Love" memorial quilts.The quilt to be displayed includes a square in memory of Bruce Cupps, husband of Penn-Kidder Senior Center director Judy Cupps.For more information, call 267-421-7958.
