Two charged with retail theft

Two Monroe County residents have been charged with retail theft and related offenses.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said on Oct. 20 officers were dispatched to Bill's ShopRite, located in Mount Pocono, for a theft incident. On scene officers were told by store personnel that two suspects entered the store and stole lottery tickets and left in a vehicle.The next day the two suspects came back to the store where they were taken into custody by police. The two were identified as Heather Kelly, 24, of East Stroudsburg, and Ahmed Darwish, 26, of Mount Pocono.The two were arraigned on charges of retail theft, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy and were released.Darwish has also been cited for retail theft following an incident that occurred at 5:59 p.m. Monday.Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were called to the Cellular Connection store in Mount Pocono for a retail theft incident. On scene officers were told an iPhone case valued at $50 was stolen by a man. The investigation revealed that Darwish, of Cobblewood Drive, Mount Pocono, took the item.Charges were filed.
