Quick response by area firefighters is being credited to saving a home Thanksgiving night.

Fire companies from two counties were at the scene of a dwelling fire along Tapuco Drive in Mount Pocahontas, Penn Forest Township.

The fire was first discovered by a passing volunteer fireman shortly after 10 p.m. He reported flames were through the roof. Fire companies from Carbon and Monroe counties responded.
