Man sought over altered prescription

Tamaqua police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Tyrell James Rucker, 25, of 12 S. Greenwood St., Tamaqua.

Officers were dispatched to a local pharmacy on Oct. 29 for a possible altered prescription.Rucker took a prescription form to the drugstore and the pharmacist noticed the writing appeared to have been altered, making it illegible. Rucker said the prescription was for oxycodone. He claimed his doctor had mistakenly written the script for Celexa, then changed it to oxycodone when he realized his mistake.Rucker left the prescription to be filled.The pharmacist contacted the physician, who confirmed the prescription was written for Celexa. At no time did he try to change it.Rucker will be charged with forgery and attempting to acquire a controlled substance through fraud/deception.Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call police at 570-668-6100 or 570-668-5000.
