Carbon man who led police on chase with stolen car still at large

A Carbon County man is being sought by state police at Lehighton in connection with two stolen cars and a high-speed chase.

Troopers said Jacob A. Taschler, 39, of 803 Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, is wanted on multiple felonies and for questioning.Troopers said Taschler was involved in a pursuit with Palmerton police on Friday after borough police suspected he was operating a stolen vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop. Taschler fled the scene.Taschler is suspected of stealing a 2010 Subaru Impreza, registration HNE-6069, on Saturday in Lehigh Township, Northampton County.On Aug. 30, 2012, Taschler was sentenced in the county court for his part in the death of his then 11-month-old daughter. He was sentenced to serve 11 months and 3 days to one day less 24 months in the county prison on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child.His wife, Kimberly Taschler, 32, who had pleaded to voluntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child, was sentenced to serve 14 to 42 months in a state prison term the same day.Anyone with information concerning Taschler’s whereabouts is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
