Officials deem Tamaqua threat baseless

An alleged threat in the Tamaqua Area School District last week proved to be baseless, according to district officials.

Contacted this morning, district Assistant Superintendent Ray Kinder addressed the situation."Some students brought concerns to us on Friday regarding some information that they received," Kinder said.Kinder said the matter pertained to "something that was heard a couple days prior in the community."As a result, Kinder said the school district, along with several authorities, investigated the matter."We were proactive as far as communicating with our families if there were some concerns," he said.Kinder said the district sent word to parents of the situation before the end of the school day on Friday."The way we worded it to our parents is it was a baseless claim, and we went on with our day," he said. "There was no real threat."
