NOVEMBER 9, 2001St. Peter’s Union Church, Mantzville, welcomed the Rev. Joyce Pfeiffer as its new pastor during an installation ceremony presided over by the Rev. William Seaman, ambassador to the Penn Northeast Conference of the United Church of Christ.Other participants included the Rev. Kurt Garbe and the Rev. Gene Handwerk, associates to the bishop, Northeast Pennsylvania Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.Pfeiffer, a native of Albany, New York, is a “second career” pastor, having previously taught Spanish in New York and Pennsylvania. She most recently pastored Christ UCC, Jim Thorpe, for five years.
