On Nov. 6, at 3:20 p.m. Mahoning Township police responded to an accident on North First Street (Route 209). A Ford Escort, driven by Ronald Getter Jr., 21, of Walnutport was traveling toward Jim Thorpe.  The Escort crossed the white line, and struck a legally parked car owned by a resident of North First Street. The parked vehicle was pushed into a utility pole, and speed limit sign.  The accident caused a traffic backup in both directions. Police seized marijuana, a digital scale, grinder, baggies and over $400 in cash.  Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
