Slatington Borough Council President Gwyneth Jones will retain her seat, winning 23 percent of the 247 votes cast Tuesday.

Bob Steets and David Schnaars will also retain their chairs among the council. All three representatives are Republican.Councilman Joseph Wechsler, Republican, edged Independent incumbent Galen Freed out of the four-year term with a difference of 20 votes.Wechsler also won the two-year term seat that he ran for unchallenged. Wechsler will have to surrender one of the terms. He is expected to surrender the two-year term position, leaving council to find an appointee for the open chair.
