Over $11K in jewelry stolen

Over $11,000 in jewelry was reported stolen in a Monroe County burglary. The break-in is one of four being investigated by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said the home of Diane and Dennis Silance, at 2656 Rising Hill Drive, in Chestnuthill Township, was entered on Oct. 7 between 1:15 and 5:15 p.m.Entry was made through a unlocked window on the second story of the home. Once inside the criminals removed an assortment of jewelry with a total value of $11,941, from a bedroom.Troopers said a burglary occurred at a residence along Neola Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said the entry occurred sometime between noon and 4 p.m. on Oct. 16. Taken was numerous jewelry items. The victim is a 71-year-old man.Troopers are investigating a burglary along Chipperfield Drive, in Chestnuthill Township. Entry was gained through a window in the home. A few jewelry items were taken. The home is owned by a 70-year-old woman.A suspect was detected in the fourth break-in, which occurred at a home on Scots Pine Lane, in Chestnuthill Township. The entry was reported at 2:10 p.m. on Oct. 9. A jewelry box containing miscellaneous jewelry and a nook table were taken.Troopers said there is a 29-year-old white man from Effort as the suspect.Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 570-646-2271.
