The Schuylkill County Commissioners have agreed to lease space to a post-secondary education training program.

The board voted 2-0 Thursday night to approve a lease with the Pottsville/Schuylkill Technology Incubator for space at the former Post Office on South Second Street. Commissioner Gary Hess was absent. The one-year lease would run through Nov. 1, 2016.The incubator already leases space in the same building. The space is approximately 3,300.The new lease will allow the Technology Incubator to conduct workplace training for high school graduates in the basement of the building. The incubator has agreed to a rental fee of $900 per month.The commissioners also voted 2-0 to approve a contract extension with Hess Embroidery and Uniforms to provide uniforms at the prison through October 2016. The initial contract was signed in 2014. Hess will remain as the uniform provider through Oct. 2016.Nov. 1-7 is designated as "Schuylkill County Farm/City Week."
