Veterans Day

The Tamaqua Area High and Middle Schools will be conducting a brief Veterans Day assembly on Nov. 11. The event will be held at 7:25 a.m. in front of the Tamaqua Area Senior High School.Tamaqua area veterans will be recognized during a roll call. To add names to the roll call list, contact Assistant Principal Tom McCabe before Nov. 9.The public is welcome to attend.Meet the artistThe Tamaqua Community Art Center will host an artist meet and greet, featuring Michael Delmonico, on Nov. 5.Delmonico is a photographer who began his craft while in college. Traveling throughout northeastern Pennsylvania, his images include portraits, landscapes, concerts and fine art. His most current project features levitation and surreal images, creating a vivid scene of bewilderment and fascination.Hours for the meet and greet are 6:30-8:30 p.m. The art center is located at 125 Pine St.St. Peter's UnionThis Sunday's 9 a.m. service in St. Peter's Union Church in Mantzville will include the observance of All Saints' Day. The service will include Holy Communion. Sunday school will be held at 10:15 a.m.Also on Sunday, the St. Luke's Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 p.m.; Daisies, Brownies, Junior, Cadet and Cub Scouts will meet at 6 p.m.Next week's activities include: Tuesday, prayer group meets at 5 p.m.; Thursday, Confirmation class meets at 6 p.m., cherub choir rehearses at 6:30 p.m., junior choir rehearses at 7 p.m., senior choir practices at 7:30 p.m.Zion LewistownPastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday in Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley.
