PROMISES MADE - PROMISES KEPT

We are writing on behalf of Schuylkill County Commissioners George Halcovage and Frank Staudenmeier, who are running for re-election.

George and Frank made a commitment to return professionalism to the county courthouse. The bickering of past administrations has been replaced by working as a team for the betterment of the county. George and Frank have provided fiscally responsible leadership that has kept our county spending at the lowest levels possible while providing the essential services that are commensurate with county operations. They have partnered with the business community to create family-sustaining jobs in Schuylkill County. Look at the success of what has occurred at the TIDE and Highridge Business Parks and feel assured that they are working toward job development in the future with the legislative delegation as well as private industry.George and Frank, along with Gary Hess, implemented and created a state-of-the-art 911 system for our emergency responders that has ramped up public safety in our communities. Frank Zangari, president of the Schuylkill Fire Chiefs Association, said, "Over my 27 years as president of the Schuylkill County Fire Chiefs Association, I have found our current county commissioners to be the most supportive and most dedicated to the needs of our local fire departments."George Halcovage is very visible at events throughout the county and is seen at numerous events here in eastern Schuylkill County and the greater Tamaqua area. He even ventured to the Hometown Armory at 4 in the morning to see off our troops. From presenting at LCCC Tamaqua to attending the 100th anniversary of the Foster's Tunnel Mine Rescue in Coaldale, George respects our area and is always available to assist. We are honored to submit this letter and would ask voters to remember George Halcovage and Frank Staudenmeier on election day, Nov. 3.Matt J.
