Dems meet today

The West End Democratic Association is meeting at 7 p.m. today at the West End Fire Company in Brodheadsville.Worship time changeSalem United Church of Christ in Gilbert is now worshipping at 10 a.m. and will continue to do so through the end of the year.Kris Kringle eventThe Western Pocono Lioness Club will hold a free happening from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at the West End Park in Brodheadsville. Recognized will be; Scariest, Funniest, Cutest, Most Original.Groups, businesses and families are welcome to join the excitement.They can trim a window at the park building or deck out their car's trunk. This is the safest way to trick or treat say the volunteers.The community is welcome to attend and give out wrapped candy and to be part of the fun.Trick or treat in Polk Township is from 5 to 8 p.m. Residents are asked to light their home if they plan to participate.All Saints' DayArea churches will be celebrating All Saints Day Sunday. Many will be decorated by flowers of remembrance in honor of those who have departed earthly life this past year. Zion Lutheran, Brodheadsville, will be decorated with white carnations.Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kresgeville will also have white carnations.McMichaels UMC will have candles in memory of loved ones.Dog Adoption DaySafe Haven Pet Rescue will hold a dog adoption day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ace Hardware, Route 209, Brodheadsville.
