Lehighton, Marian post JV victories

Lehighton and Marian recorded JV football victories while the Tamaqua 8th grade girls basketball team rolled to an easy win to cap an undefeated season.

JV FOOTBALLLehighton-ShenandoahLehighton rolled to a 46-6 victory over Shenandoah.Zach Crum scored three touchdowns to lead the Indians. Chris Whiteman added a pair of TDs and Tahmir Spencer scored once.Marian-Mahanoy AreaMarian blanked Mahanoy Area, 12-0.Malik Zver rushed for 98 yards for Marian.Max Nolter and Michael Dubravski had 10 tackles apiece to lead the Colts defensively.MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALLNorthwestern-TamaquaTamaqua scored all of its points in the first half en route to a 40-20 victory over Northwestern.Nate Boyle compiled 133 yards on just five carries, and scored twice for the Raiders. Quarterback Brayden Knoblauch went 8-for-9 for 174 yards and a TD and Matt Kistler hauled in five catches for 101 yards.Alex Zeigler was a defensive star for Tamaqua, collecting an interception and fumble recovery.Lehighton-ShenandoahLehighton cruised to a 32 -0 victory over Shenandoah.Lucas Sangiuliano threw three touchdown passes for the Indians (5-3). Dakota Snyder and Devon Haydt had touchdown runs while Brett Gasker, Ethan Lutz and Isiah Wetzel all caught TD passes.Defensively, Mike Guzenski recorded four sacks including a sack for a safety. The Indians also got interceptions from Kyle Mayernik and Wetzel. Brandon Ramirez recovered a fumble.Tamaqua-Blue Mtn.Nate Boyle scored two touchdowns and threw for another one to help Tamaqua roll to a 38-6 win over Blue Mountain.Brayden Knoblauch ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns while the Blue Raiders (8-0) also received a TD catch from Lucas Gregoire.MIDDLE SCHOOLBASKETBALL8TH GRADETamaqua-N. SchuylkillTamaqua capped its undefeated season with a 50-17 rout of North Schuylkill.Emma Kuczynski led the Raiders with 19 points.
