Fund set up to help with baby's funeral expenses

Relatives have set up an online fundraiser to help fund funeral expenses for Nevah F. Hoffman, the infant from Lehighton who died unexpectedly last week.

Hoffman's father, Shane, started a fundraiser on gofundme.com Monday.

According to the website, the funds will go "To help pay for the final expenses for the passing of Nevah Faith Hoffman," according to the site.

So far, the fundraiser has collected $360 of the $2,500 sought. It has also been shared nearly 100 times on facebook.

"We are so very sorry for the loss of your sweet baby girl Nevah. I hope this helps. We are all here if you need anything at all," one poster wrote on the site.

State police are still investigating how Hoffman died at the scene of a house fire on First Street in Lehighton on Friday. The county coroner has not issued a cause or manner of her death.

Hoffman's funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in Lehighton, according to her obituary. Call hours are between 10-11 a.m., with services at 11. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that people make a donation to a charity of their own choice.

In addition to her father, Hoffman is survived by her mother, Stacy Fronheiser, of Lehighton, a brother and sister, and many extended family members.
