Tamaqua Police have filed charges against Zachary Hoffman, 24, of 1518 Long Run Road, Lehighton.

Officers were dispatched to 222 Brown St., Tamaqua, at 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 13.They spoke with a woman, who said she and Hoffman had been arguing, but that when she went to use her phone, he physically attacked her. She was pushed to the floor and struck in the face. Officers observed redness and swelling on the right side of her face, between her eye and temple.Hoffman fled before police arrived. He was charged with simple assault and harassment.
