Adult coloring party planned at library

The Palmerton Area Library is hosting a coloring party for adults from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday. Coloring parties give people a chance to turn this usually solo activity into a social one.Coloring books for adults have become the latest trend, and unlike some fads, this one is actually really good for you. Coloring is an activity that in fact reduces stress and anxiety and relaxes the brain. Psychiatrists have prescribed coloring to patients for more than 100 years. Coloring also helps people to focus and develop fine motor skills and vision. There will be no one judging the works or the skills. Participants can color however they want. Once the coloring is finished, it can be used for all sorts of easy crafts from wall décor to decoupage. But most of all, coloring is just plain fun. This event is free and open to anyone 18 years or older. All supplies and materials will be provided or bring your own. Enjoy some snacks, relax, color and socialize with friends. If you have questions about this event, call the library at 610-826-3424 and ask for Diane.
