2 killed in crashes Saturday

Two area people were killed in crashes Saturday.

A Lehighton man was killed Saturday in a fatal crash in Franklin Township, according to Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim.James A. Ham, 26, of Long Run Road, was transported by helicopter to St. Luke's University Hospital-Bethlehem campus, where he was pronounced dead at 8:30 p.m.The crash occurred at 3 a.m. along Long Run Road, near the intersection with Maury Road.Grim said Ham died of multiple traumatic injuries.State police at Lehighton are investigating.A New Ringgold woman died in a one-vehicle crash at 6:12 p.m. Friday on Route 309 in Lynn Township.State police at the Fogelsville barracks said Constance Marie Brown, 41, was pronounced dead at the scene by members of the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.The crash happened about 1 mile south of Gun Club Road when Brown was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado northbound on Route 309. Police said the vehicle traveled off the roadway and hit two trees before coming to rest on the east side of the roadway.Police said the woman was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.The highway was shut down for approximately three hours during the investigation.Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 610-395-1438.The obituary for Constance Marie Brown appears on Page 4.
