Two local high schools have moved up the kickoff time of their football games because of severe weather forecast for this evening.

Panther Valley has changed the start time of their home game against Tamaqua to 6 p.m. The game will still be played at the Panther Valley Football Stadium.

Marian Catholic's away game at Blue Mountain has also been moved up to 6 p.m.

All other games will be played as scheduled.

The forecast calls for heavier rain after 7 p.m., Panther Valley Athletic Director Kristin Black said.

By moving the start time up to 6 p.m., she said she is confident that the full game will be played.

"We'll play in the rain, as long as there's no lightning and thunder," Black said.
